This article focuses on the role of the Swedish as a second language (SSL) teacher in the Language Introduction Programme (LIP) in secondary schools in Sweden. Policy analysis is used, with policy comprising of three closely intertwined layers: declared, perceived and practised.

The article contributes knowledge about functional aspects of adult second-language students working with writing feedback and argumentative texts. It was conducted in basic adult education, which is underrepresented in writing pedagogy research. The material consists of recorded feedback discussions in small groups and the student texts the discussions were based on.

Forskarna Linda Fälth, Heidi Selenius och Helén Egerhag vid Linnéuniversitetet har i en ny studie undersökt avkodningsförmåga, ordförståelse och läsförståelse hos elever på lågstadiet. De tittade på totalt 46 000 elever, såväl de som läste enligt läroplanen för svenska som de som läste enligt läroplanen för svenska som andraspråk.
